The NVR4216-4KS3 is a Dahua Lite 16-channel NVR designed for professional IP video surveillance systems requiring high recording and storage capacity. It supports IP cameras with resolutions up to 12MP, provides SMD Plus on 4 channels through the recorder itself and features 2 SATA ports supporting HDDs with capacities up to 20TB each.

The NVR4216-4KS3 allows connection and management of up to 16 IP cameras, supporting 12MP, 8MP, 6MP, 5MP, 4MP, 3MP, 1080p, 720p, 960p, D1, CIF and QCIF resolutions. It is suitable for professional installations requiring multiple IP cameras to be centralised on a single network video recorder.

SMD Plus built into the NVR4216-4KS3

The NVR4216-4KS3 provides SMD Plus on 4 channels using the recorder's built-in AI. SMD Plus performs secondary filtering of people and motor vehicles, helping to reduce false alarms caused by elements such as leaves, rain and changes in lighting conditions.

SMD Plus and SMD through compatible cameras

In addition to the 4 SMD Plus channels processed directly by the recorder, the NVR supports SMD through compatible cameras on all channels, with a processing capacity of up to 12 targets per second. This combination allows intelligent video surveillance systems to take advantage of both recorder-based and camera-based analytics.

AI functions through compatible cameras

The NVR4216-4KS3 supports intelligent functions from compatible cameras, including face detection, face recognition, perimeter protection, SMD, people counting, stereo analysis and heat map. This allows the AI capabilities built into compatible cameras to be integrated into the video surveillance system.

Perimeter protection through compatible cameras

When used with compatible intelligent cameras, the NVR4216-4KS3 supports perimeter protection on up to 6 channels. This allows camera-based intelligent analytics to be used for monitoring events in protected areas.

Face detection and face recognition through cameras

The recorder supports face detection and face recognition through compatible cameras on all channels, with a processing capacity of up to 6 targets per second. Supported facial attributes include gender, age group, glasses, expressions, face mask and beard.

Bandwidth up to 160 Mbps

With AI disabled, the NVR4216-4KS3 provides up to 160 Mbps incoming bandwidth, 160 Mbps recording bandwidth and 80 Mbps outgoing bandwidth. With AI enabled, it provides up to 80 Mbps incoming bandwidth, 80 Mbps recording bandwidth and 60 Mbps outgoing bandwidth.

Video decoding up to 12MP

With AI disabled, the NVR supports decoding of up to 1 channel 12MP@30 fps, 2 channels 8MP@30 fps, 2 channels 6MP@30 fps, 3 channels 5MP@30 fps, 4 channels 4MP@30 fps or 8 channels 1080p@30 fps.

Decoding with AI enabled

With AI enabled, the NVR4216-4KS3 supports up to 1 channel 12MP@30 fps, 1 channel 8MP@30 fps, 2 channels 6MP@30 fps, 2 channels 5MP@30 fps, 3 channels 4MP@30 fps or 7 channels 1080p@30 fps.

Smart H.265+ for storage optimisation

The NVR4216-4KS3 supports Smart H.265+, H.265, Smart H.264+ and H.264 video compression. Smart H.265+ helps optimise bandwidth and storage usage, which is particularly useful in video surveillance systems containing up to 16 IP cameras.

2 SATA HDDs with up to 20TB per drive

The NVR4216-4KS3 features 2 SATA ports for installing two hard drives with capacities up to 20TB per HDD. This provides a theoretical maximum storage capacity of up to 40TB, depending on the installed drives and operating conditions.

4K HDMI and VGA outputs

The recorder features 1 HDMI output and 1 VGA output. In simultaneous output mode, HDMI supports resolutions up to 3840 × 2160 (4K), while VGA supports up to 1920 × 1080. The recorder supports multi-screen display of up to 16 channels.

Simultaneous playback of up to 16 channels

The NVR4216-4KS3 supports simultaneous playback of up to 16 channels. Recording modes include general, motion detection, intelligent and alarm recording, while playback options include instant, general, event, tag and smart playback.

ONVIF and multi-brand integration

The NVR4216-4KS3 supports ONVIF 24.12 Profile T, Profile S and Profile G, CGI and SDK. It is also compatible with third-party cameras including Panasonic, Sony, Axis, Arecont, Pelco, Canon and Hanwha, facilitating integration into professional multi-brand IP video surveillance systems.

Gigabit network and remote access
